Welcome and thank you for visiting St. Matthew Lutheran located in Westland Michigan. St. Matthew is a
Missouri Synod Lutheran ministry that offers both
Church and
school services. This year we we celebrate our 70
th year as a congregation and 40 years at our current location.
Our operating motto is "St. Matthew Cares."
This motto is intended to remind us that our ministries need to focus on the people we serve and ensure their needs, both spiritual and physical are tended to. With the exception of the holiday seasons we offer three weekly worship services and numerous bible studies on Sunday and throughout the week. St. Matthew Lutheran also offers various classes and services such as specially trained Prayer Partners to ensure spiritual needs are met.
At times people may have needs that extend beyond the spiritual and into the physical. Through the grace of God and the charity of our members St. Matthew operates both a food and durable medical supply pantry. Both pantries are avilable to the general public without any requirements or stipulations. Anyone can make use of the pantries during normal business hours with or without an appointment by visiting the Church office.
Core to the ministry of St. Matthew Lutheran is the
Christian day school. The school offers the highest quality educational opportunities to pre-school aged children through 8
th grade. Also offered are programs for children who need individual attention in the classroom to ensure they reach their full potential, a comprehensive sports program, creative arts programs, and a professionally managed lunch program.
